Prayer is a vital part of church life and this is one of the reasons Vine Fellowship has included a prayer page on our web site. We have a number of people who stop what they are doing and pray right away when they receive a request. These are the guidelines the church follows, and we ask those who use the online prayer chain do so as well.
For our members who would like to join the e-mail prayer chain:
We never share your e-mail address with anybody else, for any reason and we do not sign you up for any other e-mails when you sign up for the prayer chain.
All prayer requests are filtered and resent so you will not receive e-mail from someone playing a prank and filling out our prayer form online.
You may unsubscribe from this list at any time by replying to a prayer chain e-mail with the word REMOVE in the subject line.
We pass along prayer requests as they are received, but we will make every effort to make sure we do not flood your e-mail box.
-
You will NOT be solicited for money or gifts through the prayer chain.
For those submitting prayer requests:
We receive and pray for requests as they come in. Your request is filtered...it does not go out directly to the e-mail prayer chain. This is done by a person so that is why there may be a brief delay between the time you send the request and when it goes out to the list.
Only members of Vine Fellowship (those who attend regularly) are put on the list to receive e-mail prayer chain requests, but anyone is welcome to submit a prayer request.
For Vine Members
Please remember this is not an intercessor's prayer chain...it is the Vine Fellowship prayer chain. We certainly believe in prayer, but those who signed up for this prayer chain are mostly interested in praying for Vine Fellowship members and their immediate families. Some people receive these requests at work and do not want to be flooded with personal email.
Please pass along only first-hand prayer requests (i.e. do not forward an email just because it says 'prayer request').
Generally we ask only family members to issue the prayer request so that we do not pass along information the family would rather keep private.
-
Please send all prayer requests through the web page prayer chain link and not to a staff members mailbox. It will help your request go out quicker.
-
Please keep the following when sending a request:
Please be brief and to the point. This prayer chain is a short request for prayer. It is different than emailing your best friend asking them to pray and it is different than your blog.
If you are sending updates for an on-going situation, please limit your updates to major changes in the situation or a praise report for answered prayer. An hour-by-hour update generates a LOT of e-mail and tends to flood the e-mail boxes of those who do not check their e-mail hourly!
- Please choose your wording carefully so that people reading your request do not feel they are part of a fund raising campaign.
- We believe nothing is too insignificant to take to our Father, but please consider if your request would best be sent to friends or to the entire prayer chain.
If you a question or concern about these guidelines, please feel free to contact Pastor Rob.
These guidelines will be emailed to the prayer chain list once a month.
