Choir

Here's a FAQ about our choir. If you are interested in singing with the choir or if you have any worship team related questions, our worship leader Brad Irons is the guy to talk to.

Am I an alto, soprano, tenor or baritone? I don't know.

That's ok. We'll help you determine that as you work with the choir.

What to wear?

We are going to go with black pants/skirts and white tops for the choir.  Thanks for the suggestions!

What time is the voluntary rehearsal on Thursday?

There is a voluntary rehearsal held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on the Thursday before choir Sunday (the second Sunday of each month). This is for people who want extra practice time or have questions they would like answered before the mandatory Saturday rehearsal (10:30 a.m. to Noon).

=============

What time is the mandatory Saturday rehearsal?

It is from 10:30 a.m to noon on the Saturday before Choir Sunday (the second Sunday of each month).

=============

What time do I need to be there on Sunday Morning?

We will start at 7:45 a.m. with the choir. You need to arrive by 7:35 a.m. and take your seat on stage. The Worship Team needs to arrive at regular time!!!!! (7:20 a.m. for musicians, 7:25 a.m. for vocalists) so we can start at 7:30 a.m. with warmups before the choir joins us.

Are we singing in both services?

Yes, the choir is singing in both services.

=============

Do I stay through both services?

You are not required to stay through all of both services but you are required to attend one complete service. For example, if, after singing first service, you sit in the congregation and listen to the message. Then after singing in second service, you are allowed to leave. However, if after singing in first service, you have to run home and pick up the rest of the family, that's fine, but you need to attend second service in its entirety. We will discuss the etiquette of these things on Sunday morning.

What if I don't know all the words of the songs yet?

The words will be projected onto the screen in the back. For the first choir service, we will consider letting you hold your lyrics if the back screen is hard for you to read. But just to warn you, the lighting on stage is not conducive to reading unless the words are REALLY BIG.

What is the age limit for the choir?

Age limit? What's that? We have children, young adults, not so young adults. We just ask for an open heart, a desire to sing, a measure of talent and an ability to follow instructions!
